    Conference titled "A 21st Century Immigration Policy for the West"

    The LeFrak Forum’s 2017-2018 Lecture Series and Conference (which will be held in October 11-13, 2018) will be devoted to exploring the crucial and contentious question of immigration.  In order to achieve some distance -- and perhaps thereby some calm and clarity – on this very fraught issue, we project the question into the future.  Looking to the remainder of the 21st Century, we ask: how are worldwide population movements and pressures likely to change in that period and, domestically, what is likely to emerge as the best posture toward immigration from the standpoint of our own economic self-interest and political principles?  To give the issue greater focus, we pose a specific hypothesis for debate and discussion.

Purpose of the Symposium
